Neither Past nor Denial are Solutions in an Age with Consequences – OpEdNews.com Headline

Posted on Updated on

My grandmamma insisted, the only way to change the past is to not repeat it.  I wish that was chiseled above our National Archives, rather than the self-fulfilling prophecy, What is Past is Prologue – for what does it profit America when Americans cement Red & Blue, Black & White or Rich and Poor labels on each other, if, during ruckus, nature gains the whole world, sans us.

In November 1859, the Origin of Species was published and humankind’s eternal fight over who or what owns eternity erupted into our evolutionary crevasse between church and state.  At its extremes, demanding we choose between cross and cleavage, ultimately banning the eternal truth we are.

Through Crusades, Civil, hot & Cold war dead, denial was ensconced in western civilization.  Nonetheless, there is one thing we can do about betrayals like, Nixon, Government is the Problem and forever oil wars:  not replace them with serial presidential treason, corporate lies and water wars.

How many mega tornadoes, gut-wrenching earthquakes or super hurricanes do we need to uncloud national vision and unclog individual hearing?  How often must California – its natural beauty, family homes and American citizens burn to death before we acknowledge we’ve ignored our way into America’s age of consequences – as it follows through on, Eat, Drink and Be Merry – for tomorrow was never guaranteed.

Strolling solo through the narrow streets in the tiny farming village of Hallenberg Germany – sometime between Nixon’s Watergate and Reagan’s Trickle Down, both paving the way for a trumped land – a charming farmer lady invited me in.  This living history echoed Jimmy Stewart’s Shenandoah, only the undertakers are a winnin’ it (war) – explaining farmers had been the only hope to save starving WWII German soldiers walking back to a lost homecoming.

But what if the farms and farmers aren’t there, as we blithely allow ourselves to disengage from the reality that, moneyed power pawns us off in wars for water they’ve fracked, air we’ve polluted and food, factory farms spoil.

America, in the residue of Bush/Cheney, can we envision refilling our half-full glass after emptying Trump/Pence?

Choosing to emulate violent rioters in the streets of Paris angry over fuel prices, will prove we’ve learned nothing from, The Day After characters playing, breaking news updates, as background noise, the days before.

When I was in college, from my 9/25 birthday through Thanksgiving, to Christmas and New Year’s was one big celebration with friends, Opera, Theatre and idyllic romance.  In this 21st century, the rush to shop, to ignore flashing red lights on school buses and to judgment, our fate awaits just beyond our resilience to recapture our humane essence with our misplaced humanity.

In 2007, I suggested my wife and I marry on Thanksgiving Day, guaranteeing I’d never forget our anniversary – not realizing, that year, the transient holiday had navigated to November 22nd.

She loved the idea, and for ten years celebrated both Thanksgiving Day and November 22 anniversaries – until 2018, when, once again, murder wedded Thanksgiving anti-Native-Americans with Dallas infamy.

23 November 2018, politicizing, Nature Bats Last, Politico reported, Federal scientists warned in a new report Friday that changes in the climate will disrupt the economies of every region in the country in the coming years – but, ignoring lessons of, Black Tuesday, it didn’t put a Bitcoin dent in our worship of, Black Friday.

Interviewing Conservation Biologist Guy McPherson, PhD, in 2016, 2017 & 2018, abruptly splashed the cold water dilemma of global Climate vs. America’s convenience addiction to over consumerism – in my face the facts.

Embracing Revelation as an invitation to value loving peace on earth, we’ll naturally cherish all life upon it – whether for fifty years or the twinkling of momentary enlightenment – because tears, regrets or looking back for what ifs, misuses what’s precious.

Better our lives, whatever their duration, prove Trump/Pence administration and its critical additional offense against life on earth, is not the final definition of American character – looming forever in the eternal debrief for – whatever forever may be.

Whether a nation that gases women and children seeking their American Dream, a people living the Gospel of Wealth, or perhaps even souls welcoming a new brief shining moment – passionately pursuing a life of excellence – it’s on us.

AMERICA:  What Stinks and What Doesn’t – OpEdNews.com Headline & Tremr Staff Pick

Posted on

One of the things the trumped have in common with the historical stink of despots, tyrants and demagogues, is the failure to learn from the past:  all glory gained by manipulation of the masses is fleeting – inviting an equal opposite reaction to, lock her up.

What stinks is a military on American soil aiding and abetting any Executive Branch to exclusively create law, a president determined to fight forest fires by raking leaves and a Senate leader whose faith in his assumption that, southern conservatives are easily duped, is so firmly grounded, he unabashedly exhales the foul air of denying a president his constitutional right to appoint a Supreme Court Justice.

Sometimes, truth must hurt before we rise from the stink, clinching a swinging pendulum, recognizing life, and lives, are our constant balancing act, between good and evil:

  • Abraham Lincoln 11/19/1863 v. Jim Jones 11/18/1978
  • Author of our Declaration of Independence, selling his darker children

Often, we act out by tipping life’s scale from, Home of the Brave glory to aromatic delusions of grandeur; from honoring those who delivered on, greater love hath no man, to passing on standing up for veterans on hallowed ground.

But the wave of reason exposes The Right’s treason.

Some, presidents delegate government’s raison d’tre to preserve, protect and defend to money men – but nothing stinks like The Wall Street Putsch – a plot by super wealthy Right-Wing bankers and corporatists, conspiring to enable Wall Street and the Pentagon to form a more perfect union, considering Fascism, Communism and Nazism as viable solutions to 1933 Hoovervilles.

Although Russians have invaded our electoral process for an administration comfortable with suppressing voting privileges, alienating NATO allies and denying refugee asylum – all while attempting to placate Turkish dictator Erdogan by offering up his longtime political clerical foe as consolation prize for forgiving a Saudi hit on an U. S. resident.

Fortunately, our, Free Press has rediscovered the cost of freedom is, investigative reporting – because the only change that changes anything is change, we make in ourselves:

  • Reagan made a deal with Iran not to release American prisoners, so he could defeat Carter – just as Nixon colluded to prevent LBJ from getting two Vietnams to talk peace
  • Bush/Cheney created The Great Recession while Obama bailed out their Too Big to Fail banker cohorts – and Middle America is still paying the tab
  • Mega-donors, Anna Chenault and Miriam Adelson deposited America in the out-houses of Richard Nixon and Donald Trump
  • Former World Patent Marketing CEO, Matt Whitaker, ensconced in FBI investigations into his alleged scams and threats with potentially serious civil or criminal consequences – smells like perfect sewage treatment plant for, obstruction of justice

Perhaps our savory 2018 sweet, was simultaneously voting for Progressive issues and Liberal Democrats – despite Georgia’s candidate who purged the voting power of more than a million citizens, now imbibing its state mansion with the rot of a festering cyst.

What saves America from the prejudicially aromatic Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith welcoming a front row seat to a public hanging, adding, maybe we want to make it just a little more difficult for those Liberal folks from those other schools, to vote – her now facing the fragrance of a justice for all, runoff – without Walmart.

America’s breath of fresh air is:  the pungent maneuvering of repetitious perversion of justice puncturing America is easily avoidable – when we concede to our mirrors, we who buy stocks in the puppets of corporate vampires, are what stinks America most.

It’s not just Corporatism, but corporate individuals whose exhilaration from a soaring personal bottom line is more delicious standing on the backs of customers racing to over consume; not just the trumped, but predatory pick-pockets polluting patriotism with Roger Stone, JUUL and unaffordable health-care.

Life is more than the prize of one electoral victory – It is the journey waking us each day – for victory is not just for the swift, the new or the young.  Victory, like honor, comes with learning and sharing in a refreshing marriage embracing the reason that willingly blossoms when the dirt of bullying bigotry, nepotistic hypocrisy and prejudicial obstruction are shaken like dust, from our roots.

With freedom of choice, every new dawn, invites every American into the arena, empowered by the courage of Admiral McRaven, tenacity of Stacey Abrams, determination of Beto O’Rourke, resilience of Jon J. Whelan, vigilance of Laura Hughes and the commonsense to not throw out experience with the soiled water.

Rejecting the repugnant waste of being a fractured people, let us, on the shoulders of Liberty, recast our national aura – purging all parings of poisonous stink – seizing instead, daily moments of vision as America’s most heroic bouquet.
